Why we built Vaultedge?

Sajeev was working as a Software Architect for Backup Products at NetApp where he read, researched and wrote Product Architecture, white papers and competitive material on a regular basis. On a typical day, he would download few documents from the internet at office to be read later but when he got time at home to read, He would spend time thinking whether he downloaded the docs while he was at office or at home, did he save to local drive or dropbox and what could be the name of the file etc.

Most often he ended up searching and downloading the docs again from the internet. When he applied for a mortgage loan, he was asked to submit his previous 3 year Tax statements. He spent half a day searching for the Tax statements in his emails/laptops/dropbox/flash drives.

The problem was he didn't remember the email account in which he received them nor he remembered the name of the files. Then it occurred to him what if all his digital data was accessible from one place, auto-classified and auto-tagged, so that he could easily find his documents.

That's when Sajeev decided to leave NetApp and start Vaultedge. It's been close to 12 months since he started building Vaultedge, We did our first private beta in April-2016 with around 50 users, followed by a second one in August-2016 with around 100 users.

Now we are absolutely ready to publicly launch Vaultedge in Oct-2016 and help save people from the problem of misplacing and time consuming task of finding files from different places.

In the future we want the data to find the user instead of the user searching for his data. For example, if a user receives an email asking for his tax statements, there would be a sidebar which pops up with the tax statements without him having to search for it. We plan to extend the search feature to images so that the user can find their images by places, people & events.
